Application and Effect
ELISA: It is widely used as a substrate for horseradish peroxidase (HRP) in ELISA assays. In the presence of a target molecule, such as an antigen or antibody, the enzyme HRP catalyzes the oxidation of 3,3',5,5'-Tetramethylbenzidine sulfate, leading to the formation of a blue product. The intensity of the color is directly proportional to the concentration of the target molecule, allowing for quantitative analysis. Enzyme activity assays: 3,3',5,5'-Tetramethylbenzidine sulfate can be utilized to measure enzyme activity. By incubating an enzyme sample with the substrate, the enzymatic reaction can be monitored by the change in color. Higher enzyme activity leads to a more intense blue color, enabling the determination of enzyme kinetics and inhibition studies. Immunohistochemistry: It can be employed for staining procedures in immunohistochemistry (IHC).
