Application and Effect
Amphotericin B has a broad spectrum of antifungal activity, making it effective against various fungi, including yeasts and molds. It is often used to treat serious fungal infections that are resistant to other antifungal medications. Amphotericin B works by binding to the ergosterol present in the fungal cell membrane, causing pores to form. This leads to the leakage of essential components from the cell and ultimately the death of the fungus. Amphotericin B is commonly used for invasive fungal infections, such as candidemia (systemic Candida infection), cryptococcal meningitis, and invasive aspergillosis. It may also be utilized in the treatment of fungal infections in patients with compromised immune systems, such as those with HIV/AIDS or undergoing organ transplantation.Product Packing:
