Application and Effect
Doxorubicin hydrochloride is an antineoplastic (anticancer) medication that is commonly used in the treatment of various types of cancer. It is particularly effective in treating solid tumors and certain types of hematological malignancies. The main mechanism of action of doxorubicin hydrochloride is the inhibition of DNA and RNA synthesis, which prevents the replication and proliferation of cancer cells. It does this by intercalating into the DNA helix and causing breaks in the DNA strands, which ultimately leads to cell death.
