Inositol hexanicotinate is an inositol nicotinate. It is functionally related to a nicotinic acid.Inositol Nicotinate is a mild peripheral vasodilator, which has the effect of lowering cholesterol and dilating peripheral blood vessels, and is an adjunct drug and nutritional food additive for hypercholesterolemia and atherosclerosis. Inositol nicotinate is gradually hydrolyzed to niacin and inositol in vivo, so it has pharmacological effects of both niacin and inositol.
